AWS - HOW TO SPECIFY WINDOWS AND DOORS WITH CONFIDENCE
Getting the window and door specification right, is critical for your project. You need to consider wind loads, water ratings, acoustics, site conditions, thermal comfort, energy values and bush fire attack level. As well as accessibility, safety, usage, budget and aesthetics.
The requirements in an aged care facility, hospital or school are very different to a commercial office precinct or residential home.
To ensure you can access the information you need quickly and easily, SpecifyAWS 2.0 has been updated with new functionality and features.
Prior to development, we conducted research with architects, designers, and specifiers to better understand what you needed from a self-service platform. The overwhelming response was that it needs to be:
- easy to use
- quick to find information
- better organised
- offer more filtering options
- provide the ability to compare products and
- more images and projects to share with clients
We’ve taken this feedback on board to enhance functionality and give it a fresh new look and feel.
New Functionality
Not sure which product you want to specify? Now you can do a quick comparison. Simply add up to 3 products in the product comparison table. Here you can quickly evaluate u values, SHGC, sizes, solutions, features and more.
Once you login, you’ll be taken to the Spec Assist Dashboard. This is designed to provide access to everything you need quickly and easily. Including:
- Search Functionality
- My Projects
- Recent Files
- Product Selector
- Quick Links to Spec Manuals, CAD Files, Test Reports and My Consultant
My Consultant
Know exactly who to reach out to when you’re stuck on a project and need more detailed specification support. Click on “My Consultant” for contact details.
Updated Features
My Projects allows you to select and save individual products and any relevant resources to a particular project. This saves you time coming back to search for them. You can also compare products within the MyProject section, to assist decision making. Once you’re happy, you can quickly package and download files in one zip file and prepare custom brochures for your project file or clients. It’s also a great place to store references to your favourite AWS systems for quick access.
Product Selector includes additional filtering options for height and width, as well as options for product type, brand, solution, and energy rating.
Downloads are now categorised and sorted by file type and includes a filter option, making it quicker and easier to find what you need. Find CAD and Revit files, test reports, product information sheets, specification manuals and much more.
Search functionality has been given an overhaul, providing the ability to filter by file type.
Images and projects are now included on product pages so you can easily show your clients what a product will look like in-situ.
Colour swatches can now be easily compared and ordered.
