THE MILAN 2023 EDIT
The Mondoluce team recently landed in Milan, Italy for the Euroluce 2023 international lighting fair, which returned after a four-year hiatus to showcase the latest developments in lighting from across the world.

As well as sourcing amazing new products for the Mondoluce showrooms, the event provided the opportunity for the team to attend a special exhibition from contemporary lighting trend setters NEMO Lighting - Enlightenment x Ron Gilad.

One of the most ingenious and surprising free thinkers of our time, Ron Gilad has been named designer of the year by magazines such as WALLPAPER and Elle Décor, with his works featured in New York's MOMA and MET museums.

In response to an invitation from Nemo's Federico Palazzari, the Enlightenment exhibition was designed by Gilad to open up a conversation on lighting design, challenging conventional ideas on lighting and placing lamps.

Presented in the Borgonuovo 19 space, in the heart of Milan, the display showcased unseen works and installations that engaged visitors through awe-inspiring and stimulating interactions.

According to Gilad, the installation was designed to explore the manipulation and movement of light as a medium and raw material that defines space, creates atmosphere and evokes emotions. By using various techniques, such as reflection, refraction, diffusion, colour, sound and video, Gilad choreographed and manipulated the behaviour of light, questioning the relationship between the light source and the space it occupies.

As well as challenging our perceptions of light, the exhibition also confirmed, once again, that Nemo is leading the international debate on the issues of light, design and contemporary language, as the brand celebrates its 30th year.
