Fooi- Ling Khoo is the director of Oof! Architecture which she formed over 10 years ago. Oof! Architecture specialises in domestic and commercial inner-city design. Her practice has won several local architecture awards and received extensive media coverage both within Australia and internationally.
Fooi studied her degree at the University of Queensland, Germany and University of Melbourne. Fooi maintains a strong commitment to architectural education and has taught design at RMIT and the University of Melbourne as well as being a regular guest critic. She is a keen supporter of Modernist design advocates such as DoCoMoMo and the Robin Boyd Foundation, whose film society, DADo, she co-founded and runs.
Fooi joined the ArchiTeam Board in 2015 and is the current Chair of the ArchiTeam Board, Director of Communications and PR, as well as editor of the ArchiTeam monthly ENews Datum.
The Communications and PR portfolio covers all ArchiTeam communications and the marketing of the coop to members (current and prospective), the broader design community as well as the general public, promoting the use of architects.
BARBARA MOJE, Secretary – Insurance & Member Services
Barbara Moje graduated from RMIT University with honours in 1991. Afterwards she worked as an architect in Germany for 3 years. She registered in 1998 in Victoria and has been running her practice barbara moje architecture since.
b.m.a. specialises in residential projects of all complexities and sizes and also handles interior design as well as lighting design projects. b.m.a.has also delivered various commercial builds including projects, some in the veterinary sector. Her many projects are spread across around Melbourne and regional Victoria.
In 2013 Barbara qualified as a Lighting Designer with the IESANZ and is an active member in the Lighting Society. She has also tutored at Melbourne Polytechnic and RMIT. She is passionate about environmental sustainability and affordable housing and alternative co-housing models. She has been an ArchiTeam member since 1998, has contributed to the CPD committee for several years and became Director in 2015, she was re-elected to the Board in 2017 and is currently the Director of Insurance and Member Services.
The Insurance and Member Services portfolios cover all insurance information and communications between the insurer, brokers and members, whilst Member Services covers business support documents such as the Client Architect Agreement (CAA) and OH&S Kit to facilitating the mentoring and peer support networks (Incl. the Member Only Forum Lunches). In her spare time, she tries to relax as much as possible.
Rebecca Naughtin, Director of RNArchitect is passionate about working with clients in realising their projects; actively contributes to the education of future and current architects; upholds the highest standards in regards to the ethical and regulatory environment surrounding the procurement of architectural projects; supports and advocates for architects with enthusiasm.
Rebecca is a registered architect in Victoria & has been running her own practice for over 10 years, with experience in both commercial and residential sectors of the market. She has been an Examiner at the ARBV for 10 years, is a NPrA and Overseas Academic Equivalency Assessor, a member of the Accreditation Management Committee for the AACA, and tutors in Architectural Practice and Design at the University of Melbourne.
Rebecca was the Australian Institute of Architects Victorian Chapter Emerging Architect Prize winner in 2013 and has contributed to many committees at the AIA including the Education Committee and the Constructive Mentoring Program. In 2018 Rebecca joined ArchiTeam as a Director with the vision of continuing her influence in education excellence, advocacy, and the delivery of the highest standard of architectural design.
Jamie Sormann, Awards, Advocacy & Research
Jamie is a director of Foomann Architects, which he and Jo Foong established in 2008. Foomann is devoted to realising beautifully simple, sensitive spaces that are underpinned by utility, context and sustainability. Jamie is committed to collaboration and to sharing ideas with students, clients, colleagues and the architecture community. Jamie graduated from University of Melbourne where he is a regular guest critic. He has been a jury member for the Victorian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects and a committee member for the AIA Emerging Architecture Graduates Network. Jamie has been involved with Advocacy as a committee member, co-hosted the ArchiTeam 2018 Awards and featured with Foomann in The Naked Architect series. Jamie joined the ArchiTeam Board in 2019 as Director of Awards, Advocacy & Research to support and celebrate architectural practitioners for the betterment of the built environment. He is focused on launching new initiatives to advocate for the use of architects and to improving work conditions of ArchiTeam members so they can do their best work. Jamie likes to impose his musical taste on others and maintains an active interest in pretentious films.
WARWICK MIHALY, CPD Events & Conference
Warwick is principal of Mihaly Slocombe Architects and leader in the architecture profession. He is instrumental in championing positive change within the industry through mentoring the next generation of architects, as a Director of ArchiTeam, Committee member at the Australian Institute of Architects, and founder of Australia’s most widely read business blog for architects, Panfilo.
Warwick is the Director in charge of the CPD Events, Awards and Conference Portfolios. These portfolios, with assistance from the CPD Committee and Conference Creative Directors, aims to provide members with a high standard annual Continuing Professional Development calendar with the inclusion of a biennial Conference and an annual National Awards program promoting members work throughout Australia and the world.
In his spare time, Warwick practices yoga a lot and buys LEGO sets that he pretends are for his children.
